Hybrid Airships Project
As part of the Experimental Methods in Aerospace Engineering course at WSU, a group of students and I analyzed the aerodynamic characteristics of multi-lobe hybrid airships in the 3x4 wind tunnel on campus.
My area of focus was manufacturing and integration of our 3D printed test models (shown on the left).
Very little academic data existed on hybrid airships when we began, and our results lined up well with existing CDF analysis and generally accepted performance curves.
This project was then continued and expanded in scope, and is being presented at the AIAA student paper conference in April 2023.
Select data is shared below, and the full report will be made available after the conference.
DED Team Lead at NIAR
I oversee production, maintenance, and development for a number of Metal AM machines, design experiments, author whitepapers, and interview prospective student employees for the Metal AM team.
My main projects concerned parameter optimization and characterization for a number of aerospace and hypersonic materials.
I worked at the NAIR Emerging Technologies lab from June 2021 to present.

Lab Mentor at the PIH
I assisted students and faculty at Wichita Sate University's Project Innovation Hub. I was responsible for learning, understanding, and teaching theory & practice for machines like laser cutters, 3D printers, mills, lathes, waterjets, and plasma cutters.
I also used our machines for special lab projects, like a wind turbine blade testing aparatus.
I worked at the PIH from February 2020 to June 2021
Innovation Works
3rd place winner in the 2022 Lockheed Martin Innovation Works competition.
Coming Soon!
Bronze Propeller
Future competitor in the 2023 Boeing Bronze Propeller competition.
